Heavy rains continue to drench Mumbai and adjoining regions on Thursday resulting in water-logging at many places in the city. Due to water logging, many places faced situation of traffic jams also.
All schools and junior colleges have been ordered to remain shut today as a precautionary measure. The India meteorological department has predicted heavy rain in Mumbai today. On Wednesday, heavy rain and water-logging hampered daily life in Mumbai as local train services were cancelled and roads saw massive jams. 3 people are reported to have died in rain-related accidents.
Several flights have been cancelled and more than 200 delayed due to bad weather. Water level in Mithi river breached the danger level yesterday, following which authorities had to evacuate hundreds of people from low-lying areas along its bank
