Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who is admitted for a urinary tract treatment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences here, was in stable condition and responding to treatment, doctors attending on him said.
‘Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is stable. He continues to respond to treatment well and is being monitored closely by a team of doctors,’ a statement by Dr Aarti Vij, Chairperson, media and protocol division, AIIMS, said in a statement.
According to the doctors attending on him, he was being administered injectable antibiotics and all his vital parameters were stable.
Meanwhile, a steady stream of high-profile visitors called on the ailing politician to enquire about his condition. Former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh and H D Deve Gowda visited AIIMS to enquire about Mr Vajpayee’s health.
Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Narendrta Modi, BJP chief Amit Shah and Congress president Rahul Gandhi had visited the former Prime Minister.
