Unnao Rape Victim’s car was over-speeding, the errant truck was speeding on the wrong side: CBI
A 12-member team of CBI has started investigating the Unnao rape victim’s accident and have interrogated eyewitnesses and forensic experts. The team also visited the spot where the car collided with the truck for further investigation.
Sources said that the CBI team has found that the errant truck was speeding and driving on the wrong side of the road. The car was also over-speeding when it lost control and hit the truck from behind.
The CBI team has reached this conclusion that seeing the oncoming truck on the wrong side of the road, the car driver panicked and lost control of his vehicle and this led to the fatal accident that killed 2.
Meanwhile, the son-in-law of a UP minister and 9 others have been booked on murder charges after the car crash killed two aunts of the Unnao rape victim and left her critically injured.
Uttar Pradesh minister Ranvendra Pratap Singh’s son-in-law Arun Singh has been named along with BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in the FIR registered on July 29, following the truck-car collision on Sunday in Rae Bareli district.
Kuldeep Singh Sengar is accused of raping the Unnao girl and has been lodged in jail since 2018.
The CBI, which has taken over the accident case, has named the same people in its own FIR.
The truck hit the car carrying the rape survivor, her family and lawyer when they were going to meet her uncle, who is lodged in jail. The uncle has alleged that Kuldeep Singh Sengar and other BJP leaders are behind this car crash.
