Two college students feared died in Narmada Canal while taking selfie

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Ahmedabad Fire & Emergency Service (AFES) is enagaged in search operation.

It has been hours they have been reported missing.  The duo ventured into the canal around 3.45 pm on Thursday. As per officials, Preet Adroja, 19, and Darmil Kasundra, the 20-year-old grandson of MP Mohan Kundariya, are BBA students at the institute located on Adalaj-Uvrasad Road and stay in the hostel.
On Thursday, the two were returning to the hostel from a birthday party when they stopped for a selfie near Jaspur canal.
While trying to click the picture, he lost his balance and slipped into the stream of water. Preet tried to jump to his rescue, but he also lost balance and fell inside.
One of the villagers who had witnessed the incident rushed to the spot to help the duo. He tried to pull them out using a rope of cloth, but the flow of water was high and the two were not able to catch hold of the lifeline and disappeared into the water.
