The Rupee on Wednesday plunged by 33 paise to 68.57, a 19-month-low amid trade war tensions and rising crude prices, dealers at the Forex Market said.
Brisk demand for US Dollars by banks and importers too dampened the sentiments.
The domestic unit that eased by 18 paise to 68.42 in opening trade slumped further by 33 paise to close negative at 68.57 as compared to its last close.
The indian currency recorded day high and low at 68.67 and 68.42 respectively.
Firm dollar against other world currencies kept the Rupee under pressure for the third day today, they added.
