BJP National President Amit Shah had to face the heat from Dalit participants in an interaction meeting on Friday after they shouted slogans against Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde who was present there.
Mr Shah who was eager to answer their questions had to face a disturbance after a ruckus broke in the meeting.
It all started when a Dalit leader questioned Mr Shah over Union Minister and BJP leader Ananth Kumar Hegde’s controversial remark on the Constitution recently. The BJP President replied that the “party has nothing to do with Mr Hegde’s statement” and distanced himself from the matter.
This enraged few of the participants who created a ruckus and raised slogans against the Union Minister.
Though Union Minister Ananth Kumar, BJP leader and former Minister V Srinivas Prasad tried to control the situation, the participants did not stop their agitation. Police personnel had to intervene and taken away the agitators from the venue.
Minutes after the ruckus broke out at the interaction programme with Mr Amit Shah, MP Pratap Simha through his twitter handle tweeted… Chief Minister Siddaramaiah , your party workers tried to create trouble in Amit Shah ji’s program. We can do the same in every program you attend. Better stop it.”
As part of his ‘Karunada Jagruti Yatre’, Mr Shah is touring Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, Mandya and Ramanagara districts today and on Saturday.
