Gujarat government has decided to start construction of units after completing formalities of signing of MOUs at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. The government will lay foundation stones for the units, fetching investments of Rs 1 lakh crore within a month or two.
The chief secretary Dr JN Singh said, “We are very serious on implementation of the projects promised to come up after signing of MOUs during VGS. We have not kept a huge target to achieve but a huge chunk of units will go for construction within period of maximum 45 days after signing of MOUs.”
“There was a criticism from so many fronts on implementation of MOUs and we will make sincere efforts to optimise them. But there are several limitations before that also. Therefore we have decided that the proposals should be identified in which implementation does not require long process and those investments proposals would come into existence soon,” Singh added.
The chief secretary said, “Education, health, hospitality, textile, pharmaceutical and other sectors are identified for fast implementation. These are also the sectors which generate huge direct employment and thus, that will have good impact on social sector in the state too.”
