Slamming the BJP on a book prescribed by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) describing freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar tilak as the ‘Father of Terrorism’, the Congress on Saturday demanded an apology from Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on the issue.
The Congress party also demanded withdrawal of the book immediately.
Taking to social media, AICC media incharge Randeep Surjewala said, ‘BJP is a habitual offender when it comes to rewriting history & insulting our Freedom Fighters. Bal Gangadhar Tilak ji was one of the tallest Congress leaders in the National Movement. CM Raje should apologise & withdraw these books immediately.’
According to reports, a Class 8 reference book used by private English-medium schools affiliated to the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) described freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak as the “Father of Terrorism”.
The book has been printed by a Mathura-based publisher.
