Rain lashes Delhi, mercury dips

Rains lashed the National Capital on Wednesday evening bringing much needed respite from the sweltering heat as the mercury plummeted a several notches.

Rains, that hit several parts of the city, followed squall and winds that began around 1645 hrs with dust storm.

Water logging was experienced at some places along with traffic snarls.

Air quality in the city was moderate with the index value of 163 , as per the CPCB. Maximum temperature settled at 38.3 degrees C, normal for the season.
According to the Met office, the respite is likely to continue with light rain and drizzle on Thursday, while minimum and maximum temperature is likely to hover around 26 and 36 degrees C respectively.

Minimum temperature on Wednesday settled at 27 degrees C.
