India Rahul Gandhi to host Iftaar party next week June 11, 2018 Congress president Rahul Gandhi will host Iftaar party next week, sources said on Saturday. The sources said that the Iftaar, the first hosted by Mr Gandhi after assuming the office of Congress president, will be attended by leaders of all opposition parties with whom the party has been forming alliances in a bid to form a joint opposition front against the BJP. The Iftaar will be held in Delhi’s Taj Palace hotel on June 13, the sources said. It is notable that the Congress party has not been hosting Iftaar for the last two years.This year’s Iftaar will be keenly watched for the presence of opposition leaders at a time when the Congress is positioning itself as the Centre of opposition unity ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
