PM Narendra Modi on Thursday evening addressed the nation after the Indian government’s decision to scrap Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir. This is the Prime Minister’s first speech after Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced in the Rajya Sabha that Article 370 was being nullified in Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir is being bifurcated into two Union Territories, and the state will lose its special status that it enjoyed under Article 370.
Speaking about the decision to strip Jammu and Kashmir of its special status, PM Narendra Modi, among several other things, said that the entire world will now come to The Valley to shoot films.
“There was a time when Kashmir was the favorite destination of Bollywood filmmakers. There was no film on the region that was not shot there. I am confident that in future, even international films will be shot there. The entire world will come to Jammu and Kashmir to shoot their films,” said the PM Modi in his speech.
“I urge Bollywood, Telugu and Tamil film industries to come to Jammu and Kashmir and shoot your films here,” said PM Narendra Modi, asking filmmakers to look to The Valley for their films.
