‘Panic’ of noteban spreading across country: Rahul

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on not having money in bank ATMs in some states, Congress president Rahul Gandhi alleged on Tuesday that once again the ‘panic’ of the noteban has spread in the country and bank ATMs were running dry.

Mr Gandhi said the banking system has still not recovered from demonetisation and people were facing problems due to empty ATMs.

Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr Gandhi wrote:
‘samajho ab notabandi ka phareb
aapaka paisa Nirav Modi kee jeb
Modiji kee kya ‘Mallya’ maaya
notebandi ka aatank dobaara chhaaya
desh ke ATM sab phir se khaalee
bankon kee kya haalat kar daalee’
(Let’s take note of the deception of noteban
Your Money is in Nirvai Modi’s pocket
What is Modiji’s ‘Mallya’ game
Noteban terror has spread again and country’s ATMs are dry
What have you done to the banks).

There are reports of ATMs running dry in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and the people are allegedly facing a lot of trouble.

The Government says that in the past three months, there has been a steady rise in demand for cash in some states and all steps were being taken to rectify the problem.
