A pall of gloom descended on the film industry due to untimely demise of Anita Das and a large number of film and television personalities and people from all walks of life visited her residence to pay their last tribute to the departed soul.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his profound grief over her death.
“She will be remembered for her immense contribution to Odia film and TV industry,” the Chief Minister said in his condolence message and conveyed his deep sympathies to the bereaved family members.
Anita, who started her career with Odia film ‘’jajabar ‘’ in 1975 has acted in more than 100 films in her long career spanning over more than four decades.
Some of her best films were ‘Tapasya’, ‘Ram Balaram’, ‘Krushna Sudama’ ‘Nagaphasa, ‘Pua Mora Kala Thakuara’, ‘Ki Heba Sua Poshile’, ‘Bahudibe Mo Jaga Balia’, ‘Maa Mamata’, ‘Shapath’ and ‘Swapan Sagara’, ‘ Abhay’ and ‘Sitaramanka Bahaghara Kalijugare’.
