One more person was on Wednesday confirmed of contracting deadly Nipah Virus (NiV) that had claimed more than ten lives in this northern district of Kozhikode in Kerala.
Sources said lab test has confirmed presence of NiV in blood samples of 28-year-old person of Karassery in the district.
Besides, nine persons were under close observation for the virus, he said.
Meanwhile, reports here said a Keralite soldier succumbed of NiV in Eastern Army Command, Kolkata.
The deceased was identified as Siju Prasad of Mannarkkad Thenkara in Palakkad.
His body was cremated in Kolkata as permission was not granted to transport it to his home town, the report added.
As many as 14 persons were succumbed in Kozhikode and neighbouring Malappuram district in the outbreak of the decease.
