NIA files charge sheet in blackmailing of Army officer by Pak Intel official

National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed charge sheet in the case registered against an alleged Pakistani Intelligence official, who, on the behest of his bosses sitting in the neighbouring country, tried to blackmail a lady Army officer with morphed photographs.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Parvez, resident of Chandni Mahal in Delhi, had sent obscene and morphed WhatsApp images and messages from a mobile phone and Facebook ID with a veiled threat to circulate them on social media, to the complainant, thereby causing mental harassment to her, as well as threatening to ruin her reputation.

This was done in pursuance of a deep-rooted conspiracy hatched by Pakistani Intelligence officials and the arrested accused, with a view to compromise an officer of the Indian Army into divulging national security secrets, NIA sources said here.

The accused was booked under various Sections of the Indian Penal Code, Sections 66E and 67 of the IT Act and substantive offences under Ssection 18 of the UA (P) Act, they added.
