The National Green Tribunal has rapped the civic bodies in the capital for not submitting report on the quality of water, supplied to the people’s households in the city.
As the civic bodies despite repeated directions by the Green Court failed to submit the report timely, the principal bench of the green court, headed by NGT acting chairperson Justice UD Salvi, summoned the CEO of Delhi Jal Board, Delhi Cantt Board, Chairman Central Ground Water Authority (CGWA) and Commissioner New Delhi Municipal Council on January 31.
“It is pointed out that organisations DJB, New Delhi Municipal Council, Delhi Cantonment Board and CGWA were to provide requisite data and that the data has not been collected, collated and analysed so far”.
“CEO of DJB, CEO of Delhi Cantonment Board, Chairman of CGWA and Commissioner of New Delhi Municipal Council shall remain present before the tribunal on the next date of hearing’, the bench said here. The next date for hearing is scheduled to be on January 31.
