Emphasising on the goal of providing social justice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called for focusing on development of districts that are lagging in the pace of development.
Speaking at the inauguration of the National Legislators Conference, the Prime Minister urged the lawmakers to work with a spirit of competitive and cooperative federalism, which he said will be very good for the country.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Mr Modi said, ”There are a number of places and districts in the country that lag behind the others in terms of the facilities and infrastructure. In every state, there are a few districts where development parameters are strong. We can learn from them and work on weaker districts.”
Mr Modi said it was essential to identify the areas where districts need improvement and then address the shortcomings. ”Once we decide to change even one aspect in the districts, we will get the momentum to work on the other shortcomings. We have the manpower, we have the skills and the resources. We need to work in a Mission Mode and bring a positive change. Our aim is social justice,” he said.
