Himachal Pradesh Congress committee today on the nationwide protest call given by All India Congress Committee organised a statewide protest against alleged murder of Democracy in State of Karanataka by the Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala after inviting BJP legislative party leader B S Yeddurappa to form the minority government and administered oath to Chief minister to him on Thursday.
Party state president Mr. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu including Senior Congress leader and party legislator, Mr. Ram Lal Thakur, Congress legislative party leader Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri, member of a assembly from Una Mr Raijada and Nalagarh Mr Lakhvinder Rana, Former legislators, Mr Harbhajan Singh Bhaji and Mr Rohit Thakur, Party Spokesman Mr I N Mehta and Naresh Chauhan were prominent who submitted the memorandum to President of India Mr Ram Nath Kovind through Himahcla Pradesh governor Mr Achyara Dev Vrat at Rajbhavan here this afternoon.
Earlier party state also held protest outside the Party state head office Rajiv Bhavan here loading slogan against Modi Government . Similar protests were also organised on the district and block level in the state against the alleged murder of Democracy in the Karnataka.
Displaying the banner and paper cut outs they also went to Rajbhavan and submitted a memorandum to President of India showing resentment on the Karnataka fiasco.
State party unit mentions in the one page memorandum that despite knowing that there is fractured mandates in Karnataka Assembly elections. Suddenly took ugly turn when Governor Mr Vala gave overnight invitation to BJP legislative party leader to form the government which have got only 104 seats in the newly elected house thus lacking the number to form majority government of 112 members.
It alleged that Governor, which happens to be a constitutional post and having sanity came under doubt as Karnataka Governor behove like a BJP agent by giving edge and favour to BJP from which he had before taking over Rajbhavan.
They alleged that despite claim made by Janta Dal Secular leader H D Kumarswami to form the government with support of Congress having 117 seats majority was not invited to form government.
Party further alleged that despite fully knowing that BJP have not sufficient number and decisions could lead to horsetrading, The Governor gave invitation to Mr B S Yeddurappa to form the government in over night decision forcing Congress to knock the door of Supreme Court on May 16.
Memorandum alleged that after taking oath of CM by Mr Yeddurappa yesterday today SC vindicated the party stand as the court had directed the new CM to prove the majority within 36 hrs setting aside 15 days time frame given by the Governor in the invitation letter.
Terming it the murder of democracy Congress leaders demanded to recall the Governor who had not shown regard to his constitutional post after acting as BJP agent in the Rajbhavan.
