Modi to join ‘Satyagraha se Swachhagraha’ program on Apr 10

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will join the ‘Satyagraha to Swachhagraha’ programme on April 10 at Champaran on the conclusion of the ‘Champaran Satyagraha’ centenary celebrations and will address four lakh ‘Swachhagraha activists’ across the country.

The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi had launched the Satyagraha from Champaran . On the way to Champaran, he reached Patna on April 10, 1917. On the completion of 100 years of the event, a ‘Champaran Satyagraha’ centenary celebrations’ had commenced a year ago.

Drinking Water and Sanitation Secretary, Parmeshwaran Aiyyar on Tuesday said Mr Modi will on April 10 address four lakh ‘Swachhagraha’ activists from Champaran of Bihar who are working for ‘freedom from open defecation’ .

Out of these, 20,000 ‘Swachhagraha’ activists will be present in this programme, while others activists will be associated with social media and other electronic media from different parts of the country.
