Security forces foiled a militant attack in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on Sunday night, a senior police officer said.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police south Kashmir region said militants resorted to indiscriminate firing on a joint party of state police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) near court complex at Pulwama.
However, security forces immediately retaliated. There was no report of any loss of life or damage to property, he said, adding that a massive search operation was launched to nab the militants.
The DIG also in a tweet said, “ Firing on the police/crpf near court complex Pulwama by terrorists was retaliated. Area under cordon. No loss of life and property”.
