Actor Alok Nath, accused in several #MeToo accounts, has been expelled by the Cine And TV Artistes Association (CINTAA) till further notice for not showing up before its committee, leading news agency reported.
Alok Nath failed to appear before the executive committee on Monday, a CINTAA official told leading news agency.
Writer-producer Vinta Nanda has accused Alok Nath, 62, of raping her almost two decades ago. Alok Nath, best-known for his roles as sanskaari bapuji in several films and television shows, has also been accused of harassment and sexual misconduct by actresses Sandhya Mridul and Deepika Amin, as well as other women.
The statement also added that if Alok Nath fails to appear during the annual general meeting on May 1, he will be permanently expelled.
