Four policemen, including two Sub-Inspectors, were on Thursday suspended, over the alleged killing of an eight-year-old boy during police firing at Mohanpur village of Mathura.
The action has been taken on the probe report of IG Agra range. An FIR under Section 304 of the IPC has been listed at the Highway police station in Mathura, while a Magistrate probe has also been ordered.
State Principal Secretary (Home) Arvind Kumar said on Thursday that SI Virendra Singh Yadav was suspended for the incident of firing, while SI Saurabh Sharma, apart from Constables Subhash Chandra and Udham Singh, were suspended for dereliction of duty, with immediate effect.
He said the CM relief cheque of Rs five lakh was provided to the bereaved family, by the DM Mathura. The incident occurred at Mohanpur village on Wednesday, when police opened fire, in which Madhav was killed.
