KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik knows well what they want when host IPL leaders CSK at Eden

Captain Dinesh Karthik knows very well as what task he has ahead to
take lead his new side – Kolkata Knight Riders -in top four position when they host league
topper Chennai Super Kings at home ground -Eden Gardens – on Thursday night.

Wicket-keeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik began well with armed band for the first time
winning the opening home match by 4 wickets in 19.1 overs against Royal Challengers
Bangalore (RCB) and then flew to Chennai to challenge MS Dhone’s CSK.

There in the second match KKR batting first scored 202 with 38-ball-88-run from Russell.
But the winners of 2012 and 2014 KKR could not defend so much run in T20 and conceded
the play with one ball remaining Chennai Super Kings won by 5 wickets.

KKR now know well as do their skipper what to do when they take on CSK in the second
leg match of the eight-team double league play and get top four position for knock out stage

Champions for 2010 and 2011 CSK have been the most consistent franchise in the cash
rich IPL with total six times they played the finals since 2008 before they were suspended
for 2016 and 2017 for various charges and returned to this edition.

CSK presently atop the table with 12 points from 8 games, meant 6 wins and two defeats,
as many as Sunrisers Hyderabad. KIngs XI Punjab placed 3rd with 10 points but they have
one match in hand and KKR have eight points from as many games, meant four wins and
four defeats.

However, Kolkata Knight Riders latest win by 6 wickets against RCB in the away match
boosted the morale of the Shah Rukh Khan side, that took them 4th place in the table.

Chris Lynn played a crucial unbeaten knock of 62 on Sunday at the M.Chinnaswamy
Stadium in Bengaluru. The big win keeps KKR in the hunt for an IPL play-off berth.

After his match-winning knock, Lynn was interviewed by team-mate Robin Uthappa
asking the Australian batsman about his innings.

“It was not the usual free-flowing innings I normally play. But it was good to grind out
and get some runs on the board and finished not out. I gained some confidence finishing
into the back end of the tournament”, he told Uthappa.

On the other hand MS Dhoni’s CSK have been looking dangerous and having stacked
up 12 points from a potential 16, a magic figure to move into play off.

More than the number of wins, CSK’s victories that have been more impressive than
any other teams. No team has scored as many runs in the final five overs as CSK this IPL.

Whether it’s chasing as they showed against MI, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal
Challengers Bangalore or batting first as they showcased on April 30 night, the finish
has been nothing short of extraordinary.
