Karnataka Horse trading : 4 MLAs went missing from the resort – Report

Congress and JDS heads to separate resorts following reports that the BJP has been ‘trying to buy’ them. Resort politics returned to Karnataka, the Eagleton Golf Resort near Bidadi in Bengaluru is being decked up to receive Congress MLAs.
Eagleton resort in Bengaluru is a private luxury hotel. The resort was in news during the Rajya Sabha election in Gujarat in 2017 when the Congress alleged the ‘poaching’ by the BJP. To protect its flock, the Congress flew around 44 of its MLAs to the resort where they stayed for several days. Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi had accused the BJP of flushing crores of rupees for horse-trading in Gujarat.

With fears of intense poaching activities,  Congress decided to keep its flock together.  Among the missing, Congress MLA Anand Singh, once part of mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s coterie, went ‘missing’  and fellow-party MLAs, including Singh’s friend B Nagendra, spent the day ‘searching’ for him in vain. “

Congress and JD(S) MLAs left  from Eagleton Resort, to hold protest outside Vidhana Soudha (Karnataka Assembly). Congress holds protest at Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Vidhan Soudha against B S Yeddyurappa’s swearing in as chief minister of Karnataka. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot, Mallikarjun Kharge, K C Venugopal and Siddaramaiah are present.
BJP denied the JDS and Congress allegations of offering MLAs up to Rs 100 crore for switching sides.
