Johannesburg Test: India 45/2 at Lunch on Day 1

After couple of early blows in the morning session, India were 45/2 at lunch on the opening day of the third Test against South Africa at the New Wandrers stadium here on Wednesday.Winning the toss, India skipper Virat Kohli had opted to bat first on a wicket which looked friendly for pacers, having good pace and bounce.

The visitors received an early jolt when pacer Kasigo Rabada striked in the fourth over to dismiss opener KL Rahul on a duck while Vernon Philander handed another blow in the ninth over to send back other opener Murli Vijay (8).

With India reeling at 13/2, Kohli and Pujara showed a fighting spirit to lift their side to 45/2 when umpires called for lunch break. While the India skipper was unbeaten 24 off 58, Pujara was not out on 5 from 66 balls.

While the visitors have made two changes in their side with Ajinkya Rahane coming in for Rohit Sharma and pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Ravichandran Ashwin, the hosts have included all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo in place for left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj.
