The grenade attack by unidentified terrorists here, just a week before Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu’s visit, has sent the security forces into a tizzy.
A grenade was lobbed on Thursday night at a policy gypsy at General Bus Stand here leaving three persons, including two police personnel, wounded.
Jammu and Kashmir Police has sounded a red alert post the attack as the Vice-President is also arriving here to meet prominent scientists at IIIM on May 28.
According to police sources, security has been tightened in the town and the check points strengthened.
“We have sounded alert and security grid has also been tightened post attack,” a senior police official here told UNI.
He said that the Vice-President will be visiting here next week and no security lapse is affordable in such circumstances.
“We have also rounded up nearly dozen suspects in grenade attack,” they said and added that they are being questioned and possibly, the case will soon be cracked” said the official.
