Gujarat to cast vote on April 23, about 4.47 crores voters to vote

Lok Sabha elections 2019, all 26 constituencies of Gujarat will go to polls on April 23, in the third phase of the seven to be held across 115 constituencies in 14 states. Gujarat chief electoral officer, S Murali Krishna on Sunday said that a total of 4.47 crores voters will cast their vote at 51,709 voting centres.
Candidates can start filing their nominations from March 28 onwards, last date of which is April 4. The nominations filed will be scrutinised on April 5 and the candidates will be able to withdraw their candidature on April 8.
“Voters can use toll-free number 1950 to get information regarding polls, voting, and also to register violations of the model code of conduct.
A mobile application called Voter Helpline has also been launched to act as a single point of service and delivery to voters”, he said. Interestingly, of the total of 4.47 crores votes, a total of 2,32,56,688 will be male and 2,14,88,437 will be female. A total of 1054 transgenders will vote this time.
On Sunday late evening, it was also announced that by-polls for two assembly seats in the state, Talala and Unjha, will be held on April 23, along with Lok Sabha polls.
