CM Vijay Rupani urges other cities to follow Ahmedabad model of traffic management

Traffic Police initiated a drive to enforce rules and bring offenders to book for parking vehicles illegally, which is one of the major reasons behind congestion.chief minister praised the efforts by Ahmedabad police and city commissioner for removing parking woes through a special drive.

Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani asked all the municipal and police commissioners in the state to follow the pattern of traffic management that Ahmedabad did in the last few days.

CM held a special video conference with the officials from Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh and Gandhinagar cities. Currently, With the help of local police, traffic cops have registered several cases of illegal parking under Section 283 of the Indian Penal Code and violation of CPS notification that prohibits parking within 50 meter of crossroads.

CM directed to act effectively to ensure permanent solution to such chaos. Talking to officials, CM said: “We all need to ensure that commuters do not face any issue while driving or passing through the roads across cities. The Ahmedabad police and municipal commissioner has provided the right example.”
