RGujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was addressing a gathering at a seminar on Gujarat’s growth story and its forseeable future during the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019. He state’s Gross State Domestic Production (GSDP) growth will remain at 22 per cent, which is more than its current GSDP growth of 10 per cent.
Rupani further said, “Gujarat’s growth curve has been seeing a steep rise. The state’s GSDP has grown from 1.2 lakh crores in 2001-02 to 11 lakh crores in 2016-17, and will rise 4 folds to 40 lakh crores, by 2030. Thus, the growth rate in the year 2022 will be 22 per cent. The manufacturing sector alone is set to contribute a staggering 30 per cent to the state GSDP by 2030.”
The seminar was titled as Gujarat’s Sprint to 2022. The chief minister presented the under-progress development projects in Gujarat like Dholera and Mandal Bechraji SIR, Dahej PCPIR, GIFT City, DFC, DMIC, smart cities, Metro and Bullet train projects, international airports, tourism spots such as the Statue of Unity(SoU).
