Chief Justice (CJI) Dipak Misra, in his farewell speech on Monday, said judicial independence will continue and judges should try to deliver justice to the litigants.
Addressing a full of gathering of top lawyers, senior advocates and former judges in the Supreme Court lawn, CJI Misra said that to each and every comment made by certain lawyers, one should stop replying to these kind of lawyers. This should not effect adversely to the independence of the judiciary and justice delivery system.
CJI Misra, who was in the controversy for allocation of cases to his favourable judges, said judges in the Supreme Court are united. One should not assign a motive to anybody for one’s failure.
CJI Misra, against whom impeachment proceedings have been initiated, would always be remembered for his patient hearing and humane nature.
He said that he did not want to say good bye to anyone at present.
