Four days after senior most judges revolted against him, the Chief Justice of India Justice Dipak Misra on Tuesday held a meeting with the four, justices J Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph.
During the 15 minutes meeting, the CJI heard the judge’s grievances, and they discussed the issues surrounding the recent developments in Supreme Court, sources said.
The four judges held a press conference on Friday raising certain issues about allocation of cases by the CJI. The Unprecedented move by the judges had triggered a controversy.
Soon after the Bar Council of India intervened and a seven member delegation met 15 judges including the CJI. The functioning of court has resumed on Monday following the mediation.
But the Attorney General KK Venugopal’s statement, created doubt over the outcome of the BCI’s mediation.
However, the BCI chairman negated the AG’s statement and said today that the judicial crisis has been resolved.
