British High Commissioner to India Sir Dominic Asquith KCMG met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on Wednesday and discussed bilateral ties.
Official sources said here that opportunities in education, infrastructure and health sectors were discussed at the meeting. Also, Mr Asquith lauded the initiatives taken by Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state for ease of doing business.
CM Yogi also briefed the visiting dignitary about various initiatives taken by his government to create a conducive environment for investment and employment. He presented a logo of Kumbh 2019 to High Commissioner and invited him for investors summit scheduled in February.
Mr Asquith said that British government wants to strengthen the relations of both countries with economic and cultural participation. Relations between citizens of both countries on grounds of ideology, trade, culture should be promoted, he added.
Other senior ministers of UP government including Health minister Sidhharth Nath Singh were also present in the meeting.
