After the BJP promised to send 10 lakh ‘Jai Shri Ram’ postcards to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, now MP Babul Supriyo has said he will send ‘Get Well Soon’ cards to her as he believes “something is definitely not well with her”.
Speaking to ANI, the Asansol MP said, “She is an experienced politician but her behavior is abnormal and bizarre. She should keep in mind the dignity of the post she holds. She should take a break for a few days. She is rattled by BJP’s presence in Bengal.”
Babul Supriyo, who won with a huge majority in Asansol for the second time, added, “She is the cause of so many memes on social media it is not good for anyone. From my constituency Asansol, we will send ‘Get Well Soon’ cards to Mamata Banerjee. Something is definitely not well with Didi and she needs to answer that.”
This comes after BJP MP Arjun Singh promised to send 10 lakh postcards with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ written on them to Mamata Banerjee. On May 30, Mamata Banerjee lost her cool and criticised a group of youth shouting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in front of her convoy on way to Naihati in the North 24 Parganas district.
Seven people were detained for shouting the slogan and Arjun Singh claimed that Mamata has lost her mental balance.
An angry Mamata Banerjee rushed out of her vehicle twice to confront the youth while issuing a verbal warning to them. “Come here you BJP criminals. If you have guts come in front of me,” she shouted. She also said, “There is a limit of indecent behaviour. I was travelling in a vehicle. These people wearing BJP’s headband started abusing me and tried to attack my vehicle.”
The Bharatiya Janata Party has managed to register its significant growth in West Bengal and has won 18 of 42 Lok Sabha seats. The party had won only 2 seats in 2014. BJP has managed to reduce Trinamool Congress’s seats to 22 from 34.
