Karnataka BJP state unit chief B S Yeddyurappa can take oath at 12:30 PM today.
In what could be the culmination of the drama in Karnataka, BJP’s state unit chief B S Yeddyurappa will meet the Governor on Friday morning where he is likely to present his claim to form the government.
Karnataka Assembly speaker KR Ramesh Kumar on Thursday disqualified three rebel Congress MLAs under the anti-defection law. The move had heightened the suspense over government formation exercise in the state two days after the collapse of the Congress-JDS ministry.
BJP defeated the coalition government by 105-99 votes in the floor test on Tuesday after a three-week long intense power struggle in the Karnataka assembly.
Yeddyurappa said on Wednesday he was awaiting instructions from his party central leadership on staking claim to form an alternative government in the state.
