An Air India special flight will depart today from Delhi for Wuhan city in China’s Hubei province to do evacuation of Indians amid the coronavirus outbreak that has caused worldwide panic. The special flight will depart from Delhi at 12:30 pm on Friday.
India had kept a 423-seater jumbo plane ready in Mumbai also for evacuating Indian citizens from Wuhan city in China in the wake of coronavirus outbreak. The Boeing 747 will start from Mumbai and make a brief halt in Delhi.
This comes a day India reported its first case of the coronavirus in Kerala. The student who tested positive for Coronavirus belongs to Kerala and was studying in Wuhan city in Hubei, the epicentre of the deadly virus.
The government had on Friday reached out to over 600 Indians living in China’s Hubei province to ascertain their willingness to be brought back to India. Meanwhile, the death toll in China’s novel coronavirus outbreak has climbed to 213 with the number of confirmed cases totalling to 9,692.
