A delegation of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti on Friday called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhawan and sought implementation of the 2008 Land Row agreements.

A delegation comprising Brig (Retd) Suchet Singh, Pawan Kohli, Leela Karan Sharma and Ramesh Sabarwal met the Governor and apprised him about the unacceptable delay in the implementation of the various components of the Agreement, which had been reached between the Government and the Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangarsh Samiti in August 2008, which resulted in ending the Shrine land row agitation.

They sought the Governor’s intervention in the withdrawal of criminal cases registered against those involved in the agitation, urgent payment of ex-gratia to the next of the kin of the deceased, creation of corpus of Rs one crore for creating job opportunities in the private sector for one member of the bereaved families and those who had been crippled in the course of the agitation.

Mr Vohra assured the delegation to take up their issues with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
