BJP in Madhya Pradesh has accused the Congress of exploiting Hindu sentiments to secure votes. After the complaint bus which remodelled as a rath has been impounded which was used by Congress to carry out the ‘Ram Van Gaman Path Yatra’ in the MP.
Bus – remodelled as a rath and was being used for the ‘Ram Van Gaman Path Yatra’, was impounded by police in Dindori district on tuesday night and has been kept at the Shahpura police station.
According to Sources, ‘Dindori district BJP vice-president Tekeshwar Sahu complained to Shahpura SDM Amit Kumar Bramolia that the Congress was exploiting Hindu sentiments with the aim of securing the community’s votes by taking out the yatra while the model code of conduct was in force.’
The Dindori administration has seized the ‘Ram Van Gaman Path Yatra’ bus and booked the organisers for violation of section 144 under Section 188 CrPC.
The model code does not allow any party to seek votes in the name of religion or hold a program for doing so. The rath was impounded and has been parked at the Shahpura police station.
The yatra began last week from Chitrakoot in Satna district and aim was to retrace the route taken by Ram during his vanvaas.
The route called the Ram Van Gaman Path was initially an issue introduced by the BJP in its election manifesto in 2007 when the party offered to develop this path for the benefit of pilgrims.
