8 coached derailed of Mumbail-Bhubaneshwar Lokmania Tilak Express, at list 40 passengers injured

According to railway officials, eight coaches of Mumbai-Bhubaneswar Likmania Tilak Express derailed near Cuttack in Odisha in Thursday morning after the train hit a goods train. In this accident minimum 40 people were injured while six of them are critical. The accident took place Salagaon and Nergundi stations at around 7 am on Thursday.


Officials present at the site added that while five coaches derailed, three others were displaced from the tracks. While the cause of the accident is not yet known, there is heavy fog in the area.

All passengers had been admitted to a nearby hospital and they are stated to be out of danger.

East Coast Railway Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO), however, has said that 20 people were injured in the accident. 20 people injured after eight coaches of Lokmanya Tilak Express derailed near Salagaon. No casualty reported till now, the CPRO was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
