A three-day ‘Samabhaav’ (equal feelings) film festival will be held at Ram Ganesh Gadkari Hall, here from February 6.
The festival is being organised by an NGO Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA) under auspices of Kalamaharshi Baburao Painter Film Society (KBPFS) Mahila Dakshaa Committee and New Education Society.
Mr Deelip Bapat, KBPFS secretary, said the aim of the festival was to make public aware and address issues of gender inequality and discrimination by interrogating the existing dominant model of masculinity, and prevent gender-based violence against women.
MAVA had earlier organised such film festival at Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Jalgaon.
A total of 13 films, short films, including Hindi, Marathi and English will be screened during the festival, which will be inaugurated with Marathi film ‘Sundar’.
