The Rupee rose on Monday by 12 paisa to 67.21 in opening trade on fresh selling of US Dolars by bankers and exporters, Forex dealer said.
Higher opening in the domestic equity market and Weak dollar against major global currencies overseas, also helped rupee to rose.
However, the rupee’s gains were capped as the industrial output posted 4.4 per cent growth in March, the slowest in five months.
It registered a intra day’s high and low at 67.31 and 67.21 respectively, they added.
On Friday , the rupee had lost 2 paise to end at a fresh 15-month low of 67.33 against the American currency on steady dollar demand from banks and importers.
