After ‘Aiyaary ‘, Akshay Kumar ‘s ‘Padman ‘ has also been postponed to February 9 after the superstar said that the stakes were higher for ‘Padmaavat’, which is now the solo release on January 25.
Addressing a press conference to announce the shifting of ‘Padman’, on a request by ‘Padmaavat’ director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Akshay said, “It’s confirmed that the film will release on February 9th. See there’s no point because more than mine the wait is theirs. It’s essential for Padmaavat to release on that day. I can understand. We both can release on the same day but there’s no point. Their stake is much higher than mine. So I can wait.”
‘Padman ‘ is the second film after ‘Aiyaary’ to shift it’s release from January 25 to February 9. This makes ‘Padmaavat’ the sole release of January 25. On his part Bhansali thanked Akshay for averting the Padmaavat Padman clash.
”Padmaavat has been made after facing a lot of difficulties,we decided on release date of 25 Jan but it was with Akshay Kumar for release of his film ‘PadMan’.
We requested him to move release date of his film ahead. He agreed. I will be grateful to him for a lifetime,”Sanjay Leela Bhansali said.
Earlier, makers of the Siddharth Malhotras Manoj Bajpayee starrer ‘Aiyaary’ had shifted the release of the film to February following
