National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a countrywide drive to address issues related to highway users.
Issues such as ease of tolling, electronic tolling, cleanliness at toll plazas, behavior of toll plaza staff, deployment of marshals, cleanliness of toilets, functioning of highway nest (Mini), wayside amenities and availability of ambulance and cranes at in case of any emergency to the highway users would be addressed, a statement said here.
NHAI Chairman Deepak Kumar has directed all field highway operation unit officers through video conference to visit at least two toll plazas each across the country and check the above facilities personally to improve users convenience.
Accordingly, a massive drive was launched on more than 300 toll plazas simultaneously across the country by the highway operation division on Saturday.
The Highway Operation Officer visited toll plaza and addressed the issues of user convenience and took feedback from the people.
Mr Kumar told that NHAI ws going to launch ranking system of the toll plazas. Every quarter, best three toll plazas would be identified and their name would be published on the NHAI website.
He also told that ranking system of toll plazas would improve the amenities and overall convenience at toll plazas and create a competitive atmosphere of providing best services to the highway users.
