Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with BJP President Amit Shah and the party’s general secretaries during which they are understood to have discussed organisational matters and the coming Assembly elections in seven states.
Assembly elections will be held Karnataka, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan later this year.
The leaders are understood to have discussed prevailing political situation in the country. The meeting was held at PM Modi’s official residence.
This meeting comes two weeks before the BJP led NDA government presents its last full-fledged General Budget as the next general elections are scheduled to be held in early 2019.
