Country moving towards ‘Congress mukt Bharat’: Paswan

Expressing confidence of the victory of the BJP in Karnataka, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief and Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Tuesday said the country is moving towards a ‘Congress mukt Bharat’ (Congress free India).

Addressing mediapersons here, Mr Paswan said the trends of counting of votes show that people in Karnataka have given a mandate to the BJP and rejected the Congress.

He said in the last assembly elections, the BJP got 40 seats, and is ahead in 107 seats in the trends of counting while Congress candidates, who won 122 seats in the last elections, are ahead on 70 seats only.

The LJP leader said BJP president Amit Shah had given a slogan of ‘Congress mukt Bharat’, which is now being proved correct .

He said that apart from Punjab , there is a non BJP Government only in Puducherry and Mizoram .

‘The reduction of the number of seats of the Congress in Karnataka itself shows its defeat,’Mr Paswan said.

He said the defeat in Karnataka has hurt the image of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

‘In the General Election of 2019, the entire opposition cannot come together with the Congress. Hence it is almost certain that Mr Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister once again,’ he added.
